July 2023: We are sure you are enjoying the summer and are already looking forward to the vacations. In South Africa there are very cold temperatures right now, because it is winter there. The donations from the annual charity run of the Moritz School in Erfurt were just right to equip the children in our aid projects with warm winter clothes, so that they do not have to freeze on their sometimes very long walks to school or kindergarten.
For 10 years now, the Moritz School in Erfurt has been organizing a fantastic charity run, among other things for the benefit of our Siyabonga aid projects in South Africa. This year, the children were again on the run with nimble feet on 18th April 2023 and, with the help of sponsors, raised the fantastic donation sum of 4,429.40 Euros. With a heartfelt Siyabonga = THANK YOU, we would like to take this opportunity to once again thank all those responsible for the great organization and execution of the charity run and especially the many eager runners.
This year the money from the charity run will be used again under the motto "from children for children" for the disadvantaged children in our projects.
In our feeding project in Greytown the children already received a big bag of winter clothes at the last food distribution - the joy and gratitude was enormous, as you can see on the photos. The children's home also provided nice warm clothes for the home children. The next big project in the children's home is the renovation of the playgrounds and everyone is already excited about new play and sports equipment. It is also very important to us to ensure good medical and psychological care for the children in the children's home, who often have to endure difficult fates.
In our last newsletter, we told you about our participation in the current Netto fundraising campaign "Bring in for your club" and asked for your support in the voting.
Siyabonga actually won a 17-week donation partnership at the Netto branch at Geiblestraße 27 in Erfurt. Great! In the period from 04.09. - 30.12.2023 you can support our association by "rounding up" at the checkout or by handing in a "deposit voucher donation".
